Megan Van Ruler

President

Megan is a fourth-year pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business Administration with a double concentration in Accounting and Finance and two minors in Spanish and Psychology. She plans on graduating in June 2022 with CPA eligibility. Megan grew up in Hilmar, California (a town in Merced County) on an almond farm. Outside of CPAC, Megan is a Peer Advisor for the College of Business and is an Associate Consultant for Mustang Consulting. During her free time she enjoys hanging out with her family and friends, going on road trips with her siblings, and eating mint chip ice cream.

Matt Bianchi

VP of Firm Relations

Matt is a third-year pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and a minor in Environmental Studies. He plans on graduating in March of 2023 with CPA eligibility and will be interning at Deloitte in San Francisco in the Summer of 2022 in the Audit practice. Matt is from Sunnyvale, California and has four siblings. Outside of school and CPAC, Matt enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching sports, traveling, and going to the beach.

Sydney Cook

VP of Events

Sydney is a fourth-year pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and a minor in Law and Society. She plans on graduating in June 2022 with CPA eligibility. Sydney grew up in Sacramento, California but plans to work in San Francisco upon graduation. Outside of CPAC, Sydney enjoys hiking, cooking, and spending time near the water. Her personal goal for 2021 is to overcome her fear of heights and make it to the top of Half-Dome in Yosemite.

Annie Ritcey

Director of Upper-Class Professional Development

Annie Ritcey is a fourth-year pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and Finance. She plans on graduating in June 2022 with CPA eligibility. Annie grew up in the Seattle area but plans to work in San Francisco after graduation. In addition to CPAC Annie loves staying active and being outdoors. She is a player on the women's club water polo team and also enjoys going to the beach any chance she gets to surf.

Linnea Thurnheer

Director of Publicity

Linnea Thurnheer is a third-year pursuing an undergraduate degree in Agricultural Business with a focus in Accounting. After graduating in June 2022, she plans on getting a Master’s degree to be CPA eligible by June 2023.  Linnea is originally from Northfield, Minnesota, but plans on beginning her career in San Francisco at a public accounting firm. Outside of CPAC, she enjoys skiing, scuba diving, traveling, and cooking.

Paris Askren

Director of Activities

Paris Askren is a fourth-year transfer student pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. She plans on graduating in June 2022 and will be getting her Master’s in Accountancy. Paris grew up in Newbury Park, CA, but plans to work in Los Angeles after college. Outside of CPAC, she likes to hike, go to the beach, listen to podcasts, and hang out with her friends.

Katherine Phan

Director of Community, Diversity, and Inclusion

Katherine Phan is a third-year student pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business Administration with concentrations in Accounting and Finance. She plans on graduating in June 2023 with CPA Eligibility. For the summer of 2021, she’ll be interning with Moss Adams in their Silicon Valley office. Katherine grew up in San Jose, CA and hopes to stay in the Silicon Valley after college. During her free time, she enjoys embroidery, reading Disney Food Blog, and ice skating!

Hunter Smith

VP of Finance

Hunter is a third-year pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and a minor in English. On campus, he is heavily involved as a research assistant for the GSR, and is also a regular volunteer at the Cal Poly Cat Program. He plans on interning with PwC in San Francisco in the Summer of 2022 in the Tax practice. Hunter grew up in Sacramento, California, and is a triplet. He is an avid tennis player and long-distance runner, voracious reader, and author with two full-length novels published online.

Annelise Long

Director of Lower-Class Professional Development

Annelise “Lisi” Long is a second-year pursuing an undergraduate degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and a minor in German. She plans on graduating in March 2024 with CPA Eligibility. Lisi is from Sacramento, California and has two sisters and a mini Australian Shepherd. Outside of CPAC, she loves baking, making niche playlists on Spotify, and doing anything outside!​

Megan Perry

Secretary

Megan Perry is a fourth year Business Administration major with a double concentration in Accounting and Information Systems with plans to graduate in June 2022 with CPA eligibility. Megan interned at Frank, Rimerman + Co. LLP in the Summer of 2021 and will be working with the Firm as a Rotating Accounting Associate after graduation. Megan grew up in Tracy, California and loves to stay active by working out, going on hikes, and walking her dogs (follow them on IG @mylieandjax).

Sheri Boscaro

Executive Director for Accounting Excellence

Sheri Boscaro, CPA, is the Executive Director of Accounting Excellence in the Orfalea College of Business at California Polytechnic State University. She joined Cal Poly after having spent 16 years working in both public accounting and industry firms. This will be Sheri's fifth year as the CPAC advisor.​
